1.satisfy的基本意思是“满足,满意”。可指“使某人满意”,也可指“使某人的欲望、期待、条件或好奇心得到满足”。satisfy引申可指“使人深信或确信某事”。
2.satisfy可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语。可用于被动结构,但一般不用于进行体。
3.satisfy作“使相信”解时,多接以that从句充当直接宾语的双宾语。
4.be satisfied还可用于系表结构,意思是“感到满意”,其后常接with引起的短语,也可接动词不定式、现在分词或that/wh-从句。
