1.revise的基本意思是“订正”“修订”。指“订正”时,即对原稿或校样的修改; 指“修订”时,即对已出版的书籍进行修改以再版。revise引申可指“复习”。
2.revise既可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。用作及物动词时,可接名词、代词作宾语。可用于被动结构。
3.revise接介词for表示“为…而复习”; 接from表示“根据…修订而成”。
