1.reproduce的基本意思是“复制”。可表示“繁殖后代”“翻印”“再版”“再生”等。
2.reproduce可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时接名词或代词作宾语。还可接以as短语充当补足语的复合宾语。
3.reproduce用作不及物动词时主动形式有时表示被动意义。

reproduce, breed, multiply
这组词都有“繁殖”的意思。其区别在于:reproduce通常用于动物; breed用于人时通常含贬义; multiply强调大量地繁殖。

reproduce本身含有“再次”的意思,所以一般不说reproduce again。
