1.repay的基本意思是指将从别处借来的东西(主要指钱)物归原主,即“还,偿还”。引申可指“报答”“报应,报复”等。
2.repay多用作及物动词,作“报应,报复”解时也可用于不及物动词。用作及物动词时,可接名词或代词作宾语,有时还可接双宾语,其间接宾语可转化成介词to的宾语。
3.repay的过去式和过去分词均为repaid。
