1.esteem的基本意思是“看重,敬重”,表示对人或物高度评价并怀有一种深厚的尊敬、依恋之情。
2.esteem用作及物动词,可接名词、代词作宾语,还可接以“(to be/as+) n./adj.”充当补足语的复合宾语。
3.esteem也可接介词for表示“为…而尊敬”。
